Eptapirgion
3rd Prize / Landscaping proposal for the Monumental Ensemble of Eptapirgio in Thessaloniki

Medieval Fort

The purpose of this study is to present the outline for the landscaping of the monumental ensemble of Eptapirgio, in Thessaloniki. The project aims to treat the monumental site under the conditions of new museology, ie interpreting the site and re-presenting it. The emergence of the archaeological site is suggested in a way that serves both the transmission of the historical information and the daily needs of a modern city. The historical monument is interpreted by means of an experiential approach of space through architecture, as well as through point installations (visual projections, soundscapes, texts signs etc.).
The design concept is based on the dual function of the historical monumental ensemble, as a fortress and prison later, incorporating all parts of the study. As a result we propose two architectural promenades, one inside the monument and one around it, which organize the space in two distinct sections and serve at the same time the conceptual, architectural, lighting and landscaping design- through a holistic approach.

House in Chios
Preliminary study for a site located in Varvassi Chios

Cerulean Sky

The project is a preliminary study for a site located in Varvassi Chios. The house develops in four levels . The main spaces are connected to the living room through visual contact, assisted by a vertical slit in the entrance area. The living room is located on the elevated ground floor, along with the dining room, the kitchen, a WC, an utility room and a large terrace. On the first floor, the bedroom - office achieves visual connection to the living room through a large opening. On the second floor, the master-bedroom enjoys a large outdoor area. In the basement there is a guesthouse, a playroom/ daily room, and a large storage space. Each bedroom has its own dressing-room and a large en-suite bathroom. The three upper levels occupy 120m2 and the basement occupies 73m2.
The great heights, the generous openings , the visual flows, the strong presence of simple materials and the distinct separation of functions into levels,  are the main features of the project. The house is available for construction.

Small House
Proposal for small house in Oakland

Lignum Album

The main objective for the design of this house is to have a small house that looks bigger that it actually is, but featuring plenty of storage. Most furniture is designed specifically for this house, so that it can be made locally.
In the main area there is a lounge, a kitchen and a WC. A large storage wall accommodates a pig part of the kitchen, a closet and storage for the WC. The WC is a cabinet made of granulated glass, so that it doesn't obstruct the space. The open plan kitchen is "U" shaped with lots of storage and full-size appliances. The highlight of the living area is a metal staircase. The first few steps of the staircase are retractable in a separate piece of furniture. A big dining table can host from 3 to 6 persons.
In the loft area the built-in bed accommodates storage for pillows and linen. A desk overlooks the space. A separate space in the loft, divided with a glass wall, features a walk-in wardrobe and a large shower.
The overall design aims to radiate the sense of tranquillity and relaxation, while enjoying life in a small home without compromises.

Mikrolimano
Proposal for the remodeling of Akti Dilaveri - Akti Koumoundourou (Mikrolimano)

Elements

The proposal aims to highlight the elements that historically characterize the area and transform it into a new urban experience. Water, vegetation and the restoration of their relationship with humans are considered of prime importance for the landscape. The central idea is formed around the concept of the "limit". This is done by manipulating water and vegetation as linear elements that enhance the flow of movements.

Dark Turquoise

CONCEPT
The design of this apartment is based on a layout of very clear motion flows, with functionality, feasibility, aesthetics and low cost as top priorities. A big box in the space (the kitchen) is the main feature of the design, dividing the living spaces from the private spaces. Materials and furniture are kept simple, minimal, on a "sea mood” and on a medium budget.

DESCRIPTION
At the entrance of the apartment there is a vestibule and a short corridor giving perspective and leading to the guest’s wc. On the right of the entrance lie the living spaces (lounge and dining) and a big kitchen. Behind these, there is a big master-bedroom with en-suite bathroom. On the left of the entrance, there is the studio, which can be used as a bedroom or a study. The studio also features a private entrance. Next to the studio, there is an anteroom leading to a secondary bedroom. The anteroom features a laundry-closet and the entrance to a semi-en-suite bath, which can be used from either of the secondary bedrooms.

Dark Turquoise

Inspired by the element of the sea, a proposal in dark turquoise and white that exudes serenity and relaxation. Bright white walls, white furniture and simple lines with a minimal mood create an environment of tranquility and calmness.

Product Design

Like-father-like-son is a gadget designed for the Riva 1920 6th design award competition.

A multifunctional tabletop gadget based on the “nesting-dolls” principle. It comprises three cups with bowls made of cedar wood, which can be used as cups, vases, shakers, bowls, cases or holders, and two anti-stress bowls, one made of briccole scraps and a smaller made of kauri scraps.

Taking cues from the human anatomy, it pays tribute to the materials used by Riva. It aims to be heritage-piece to be passed on from generation to generation.

Chian Earth

The design concept for the new corporate identity and the new architectural identity of the shop is based on idea of  a frame. This doors and windows shop wants to rebrand and remodel their facade in order to attract new customers, based on its new and more powerful image.

The design of the new corporate identity is based on the simple recognizable symbol of the bracket [], refering to the image of a double sash frame. "Frame" is suggested as the new name of the company.

Industrial Fields

The objective of this proposal is to consolidate the three city squares and public spaces, through a human-centered holistic approach, with flexibility in future application. The design is based on the subtlety and feasibility. The disign concept of the proposal is the historic phrase "The fields of Serres is a nest of gold", indicating the potential of Serres as a centre of trade and development. Thus, Emporiou Square (Commerce Square) is converted to a live reference to the fields of Serres, from which spouts the development of the city as a European center of commerce that flourished in the 19th century. Emporiou Square is shaped architecturally with primary references to images from the fields. An important benchmark for the design is the remnants of torrent Kloupotitsa which used to pass through L.Papapavlou Street towards the Papandreou Street. The element of water is used as a reminder of the torrent in the form of "punctuation" marks along L.Papapavlou Street, which lead to a pool of water at the side of the square.

1ID win the 1st Prize for the Porada International Design Award 2013.

The jury of the PORADA INTERNATIONAL DESIGN AWARD 2013 has just announced the winners of this competition: an event sponsored by Porada Arredi srl, a leading company in the furnishings and fittings sector, and POLI.design, a Milan Polytechnic Consortium, with the additional support of the Association of Industrial Design (ADI). The announcement took place at Palazzo Natta, administrative centre of the Como Campus of Milan Polytechnic.

The winning design in the Professional category was called “Lope”: an extendable dining-table constituted partly of solid ash and partly of matt-effect white aluminium. The latter element adds a very contemporary touch, elegantly enclosing the wooden section of the table. The intention of the two Greek designers, Regina Antonopoulou and Stylianos Axiotakis, was to express our relationship with nature, an aim reflected in the form of the table-legs, inspired by those of an antelope.

The construction is a way-out, an escape point from the busy environment of the shopping center and at the same time an opportunity for the visitors to reflect on their relationship with others and connect with them in an act of selflessness. The adoption of the archetypal form of a house is a reference to children's drawings, causing feelings of immediacy, intimacy and warmth.
The small structure reflects its surroundings through the use of mirrors. This contributes the sense of isolation for those inside it, as they can unexpectedly disappear from the intrusive environment of the mall, even in plain sight, since the construction is located in the atrium of the building, visible from everywhere.
Apart from the concentration of "offers" for charity, the structure-showcase indirectly advertises products on its shelves. This may become a business motive for the stores of the mall, so as to create a general feeling for charity.
